03 / The music

Ordinary life.
A strange
little rhythm.

Loose Theory makes alternative songs that move like hip-hop but think like indie art-pop.

Melodic bass lines, dry drums, and a voice that sounds like it's talking to you from the other side of the room. The songs live in small details: a late hour, another workday, the things we put off saying.

There's room for a crooked groove, an understated joke, and a little discomfort. Familiar places, seen from a slightly different angle.

A note on the process

Behind
the curtain.

Human-directed.
AI-assisted.

There’s a person behind this project.
There’s AI in the process, too.

I shape the ideas and lyrics with AI assistance, and use Suno to generate vocals and instrumentation. The direction, revisions, and final decisions are mine.

How I make the music

I use Suno to generate the vocals and instrumentation you hear in Loose Theory. I develop the lyrics with AI assistance, working through ideas, drafts, and rewrites. I don’t want to pretend I played every instrument or sang these songs myself.

My part is shaping what the song is trying to say and how it should feel: the words, the groove, the mood, and the details. I listen to different versions, keep what works, and go back to what doesn’t. A generated track isn’t automatically a finished song.

I see AI music tools as another step in how people can create music. For me, they make it possible to explore ideas I couldn’t perform on my own. That doesn’t make musicians replaceable, or make their years of practice any less valuable.

This is how I make Loose Theory. You get to decide what the songs mean to you.
